Frequently asked questions

How the free KC Senior Guide directory works — whether listings are endorsements, how we're paid, what areas we cover, and your privacy.

Is this really free?

Yes. Browsing the directory is completely free, with no sign-up and no obligation. We don't sell your information.

How is this different from a national website?

We're local and KC-focused — both the Kansas and Missouri sides of the metro — and we include the free public and nonprofit programs most national sites skip: Area Agencies on Aging, Medicare counseling, Meals on Wheels, transportation, caregiver support, legal aid, and more.

Are the listings endorsements or recommendations?

No. Listings are provided for information only, to give you a starting point. They're not endorsements, and they're not a complete list of every option. Always tour communities, confirm current details, and choose what's right for your family.

How do you make money if it's free?

A few ways, none of which cost you anything or affect what we list: some providers may pay to be featured, and if you ask us for optional hands-on help, a provider you choose may compensate us. We only earn on private-pay services — never on anything covered by Medicare or Medicaid.

Do I have to give you my information?

No. The whole directory is browse-it-yourself — no sign-up needed to use it. If you subscribe to our email updates, that's optional and opt-in, and we never sell your information.

What areas do you cover?

The greater Kansas City metro and Lawrence — seven counties: Johnson, Wyandotte, Leavenworth, and Douglas in Kansas, plus Jackson, Clay, and Platte in Missouri. That includes Overland Park, Olathe, Leawood, Lenexa, Lawrence, Lee's Summit, Independence, Blue Springs, and Kansas City on both sides of the state line.

How do I get started?

Just start browsing — Senior Housing, Home Care, or Resources. Every listing includes a phone number and website so you can reach out directly.
